given the ongoing turmoil in lebanon, a question comes to mind. how much better would the conditions of the Muslims be if we put as much effort in appointing a Khalifah as we have applied in appointing the next president of lebanon?
on this point, a brother threw down the gauntlet during a khutbah last week. 'show me an ayah or a hadith that commands the Muslims to appoint a president for lebanon', he declared. no repsonse.
